Terry Fan Artwork

I have recently been looking for some cool, unusual prints/paintings to decorate my new house with, as the walls are looking slightly bare. I had a look on FAB and found the work of Terry Fan.
I have fallen in love with his art
, and will definitely be ordering a few prints! They are available in various sizes, with or without a frame, and are very reasonable priced, from $18 for a mini print to $54 for an extra large print, (they also ship to UK!)
You can have a look at his collection here and also check out the iphone/ipad cases, t-shirts, hoodies, cushions and stationary cards with the prints and designs.

Feet Treats!!!

Even though its not yet warm enough to wear sandles, ballerina flats or small summer shoes of any description since I live in rainy Manchester (pffffft!!) I was in the mood tonight to give my feet a little treat.
I used a pumice stone to scrub away all of the dead/hard skin, they are great to use, and leave your feet feeling super soft.

Then I used Boots Invigorating Foot Scrub £3.49, all over my feet. Its like a really thick exfoliator, with tiny particles in it which scrub away all the rough skin and soften the feet. I applied it to clean dry skin and rubbed it in until it dried out and flaked, then rinsed off. It smells like lavender and peppermint, and its a very natural scent, not artificial at all, lovely!!!

Next I painted my nails in Cactus Green, by Max Factor. Its a nice thick creme, and needed two coats to get good coverage. It dried quite quickly, and applied very evenly. As it was such a good price (I think it was around £3.99) I wasnt expecting amazing quality...I find some of the cheaper brands of nail polish to be watery and they dont give an even coverage, but this one was great, I will definitely be using more Max Factor colours in the future

Finally, I used  Boots deep Moisturizing Foot Cream. This is without doubt, the best foot moisturizer I have ever used. It smells of peppermint, lavender and faintly of Witch Hazel, and I usually put it on just before bed. Its very thick, but absorbs quickly and doesnt leave your skin feeling greasy. In the morning my skin feels amazingly soft, refreshed, smell great and the best part is, this is only £3.99 for 100ml, an absolute bargain! This is one product that really does do exactly what it says on the tin.

Top Three of my Two of my favourite things!!!

As the long dark winter nights are now behind us (hooray! Its no longer pitch black on my drive home at 4.30pm!)) Two of my favourite things to help me get in a summer mood as the seasons change are a new, fresh summer perfume, and a good old pink lipstick. These are my top summer perfumes and lipsticks to wear.
I am an actual perfume addict, and always looking out for something new. I am still wearing my "winter" perfumes at the moment (Thierry Mugler Alien, Calvin Klein Euphoria and Vera wang Princess) and as summer is only just around the corner, I have been checking out some new and some old summer favourites!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine-  This is a limited edition version of Daisy Eau so fresh, and smells very similar, but this has more sparkling, exotic fruity notes. I have tried it a few times when I have been shopping, and I absolutely love it, so this is at the top of my summer wishlist.
According to Fragantica, this scent contains "initial notes of strawberry, apple blossom and pink grapefruit. The heart is floral and soft - with jasmine, rose and violet leaves, while the base accords include oak moss and amber wood"

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle- I started wearing this perfume around two years ago, and wore it on my wedding day, so its my all time favourite. Its fresh and crisp, yet the jasmine and floral make it a real grown up, sophisticated scent.
Fragantica described it as "Top notes are orange, mandarin orange, orange blossom and bergamot; middle notes are mimose, jasmine, turkish rose and ylang-ylang; base notes are tonka bean, patchouli, opoponax, vanilla, vetiver and white musk."

Issey Miyake-  A version of this scent is released every year, with a newly designed bottle. Its a perfect holiday scent, as its light, fruity, fresh and as I have worn it the last few summers, it brings back great memories.
Fragantica describes this as" L'Eau d'Issey Pour L'Ete 2013 captures attention with fruity-sour notes of pink grapefruit and litchi in the top, and guava and passion fruit in the heart. There are also aquatic flowers, complemented by the base of vanilla and exotic woods."

Lipstick

Revlon Lip butter in Strawberry shortcake
MAC lipstick in Lustering
Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie

L-R Raspberry Pie, Lustering, Strawberry Shortcake

I have only recently started to wear lipstick instead of lip gloss, as I have found the brands I have tried in the past really dry my lips out, and make me look like a clown. these pink shades are my favourite daytime lipsticks for summer, and they brighten up my face and outfit, without looking too bright.
My best friend who is a lipstick pro, and can pull of bright pinks, oranges and Reds bought me the Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake as my first ever lipstick, as its quite subtle, very moisturizing  more like a coloured lip balm than a heavy lipstick.  After using this i was hooked, yet not brave enough to go for the dark and bright shades she does. The colour goes on easily and evenly, leaving a nice shine, and my lips feel lovely and moisturised.
The Raspberry Pie shade is a bit darker, and almost gives lips a stain rather than solid colour, again it moisturises and is easy to apply. This is my usual  night time/going out lipstick, as it leaves a great "just bitten" stain on the lips, without drying them out and making them shrivel up, they stay   shiny, and it doesnt slide off easily.
The MAC lipstic in Lustering is my most recent and most expensive lipstick purchase, but I love it and have worn it every day since I bought it. It is easy to apply and leaves a lovely but not over the top shine, and is a warm, watermelon pink colour that is great for day or night...I will definetly be purchasing more MAC lipsticks

My Week In Pictures

Off to the market to buy food for a sunday roast. It was my dads birthday this week so I cooked a nice meal for everyone

It was my husbands birthday the day after my dads, and hes not a big fan of cake, but he LOVES cookies, so I got this made at Millies Cookies!Mmmmmmm
My cat Nemo has been very mischievous this week....he sneaked onto the kitchen work top and stole a piece of chicken my hubby was defrosting for lunch, and dragged into our bedroom and ate it under the bed.... then jumped out of the kitchen window and went on a little adventure outside..he is only 4 months old and the vet advised us not to let him outside until he has been "done". He looked very pleased with himself.

I tried Zumba for the first time this week! I'll be honest, I didnt fancy it, I'm not a "dancing" type of person, but I had great fun, and it was a good workout, I will definetly be going back!

The new bioshock game for xbox...I'm not a huge gamer, but I played the first Bioshock and loved it, I like the adventure/puzzle/shooting games, so I started playing this earlier this week

Needed this after a busy week working, cleaning and exercising  by Friday morning at work I could hardly stay awake! This sorted me out though

Book I am reading at the moment, of you havent seen the tv show "Game of Thrones" I really recommend it, its amazing!

What I REALLY want for Easter

Since its Easter weekend, and I have already eaten 3 chocolate eggs.... (diet posts will soon follow....wahhhh!) I thought I would post about something that has interested me since I first saw them on British kids TV show blue peter....Faberge Eggs.
They were made in Russia between 1885 and 1917 and given as gifts at Easter. The most famous, and the ones pictured, are known as Imperial Faberge Eggs, made for the Russian Royal family to give as gifts. They had trinkets, jewellry and small gifts inside, however most of them have been lost. They are made from enamel, precious metals and gems, and 42 of 50 original Eggs survive. I dont know what I would actually do with it if I had one... (maybe use it as a paper weight?) but I do think they are beautifully crafted, have an interesting history and are nice to look at.

This is my favourite, known as the "Rosebud" egg, was made in 1895 for Tsar Ncholas II to give to his wife.

The House of Faberge still lives, and now also makes a range of jewelry and ornaments.
My favourites are by far the Egg pendant necklaces, as they are so unique and beautiful, however are a little out of my price range, at between £6,000- £18,000 Euros...I had better get saving!!!
I hope you all have a lovely Easter!

xx
